The substance built up on the canvas enables me to imbue my works with a dynamic force through the interplay of the individual parts of a painting. The end result is a work that thrives on a concrete and compact materiality as a whole. In the painting ‘Magic’ as well, the often spontaneously created messages are visible in a powerful form. Although the figure in this work is abstract, large, and created with various materials and line forms in ink, liquid lacquer paint, and oil pastels, the dynamic magical power comes to the fore.
