Like the calm that settles in after a violent thunderstorm, our gaze is drawn in this work to the countless shades of turquoise blue—ranging from gray, light arctic green, and light beige-brown to rusty autumn tones—across delicate forms and surfaces that shift from light blue-green to black. Incorporated beneath these are expressive symbols and splashes of color in various forms, created from the powerful textures of fillers, bitumen, and acrylic paints. This work, too, bears witness to the great struggle of opposites and, through the glazed surfaces of diluted paint, drips, and splashes, increasingly serves as a symbol of the work ‘Heralding autumn’.
