The works in the “Power” series are small-scale pieces based on layers of texture, with areas of color and deliberate effects applied to a black-primed canvas. Passionate and thrillingly powerful, as in most of my previous paintings, the impulsive, dynamic, yet sensitive visual language is realized in small formats—complemented by the white typographic elements. These serve as typographic “eye-catchers” that, despite their power, also convey delicacy, fragility, gentleness, and romance.
